The search for a healthier and longer life has been the pursuit of millions of researchers and scientists for centuries. However, even though there has been a limited amount of success, there hasn’t been one thing that all of the long-lived people on earth all do. There is one thing that most of them do and that is to consume lots of antioxidants, phytonutrients and other micro nutrients from plants. Even though the plants that they consume do tend to be different, Greek coffee and matcha green tea seem to be a consistent beverage among a large portion of people that live to over 100 years.

Green Tea Is Great, Matcha Green Tea Is Better
Normally, green tea is a very healthy beverage and better than regular tea and almost every other type of tea. Matcha green tea is specially grown and the leaves of the tea plant are shaded to cause extra growth and thicker foliage. These leaves are then carefully chosen, flash steamed, and then kept in a cooler to develop more flavor. Once they are ready, they are dried and stone ground to a fine powder.
This fine powder is mixed with only a small amount of steaming water and the entire mixture is consumed. The amount of nutrients are increased up to 130 times more than regular green tea. Since this is so powerful, many people have gone out of the way to find other ways of taking it in order to gain the wonderful benefits.

- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 1 teaspoon matcha tea powder
- 1 cup low-fat milk
- 1 teaspoon honey
Blend the boiling water with the matcha powder using a blender until foamy. In a pan, heat the milk and honey until almost boiling. Vigorously whisk the milk and honey mixture until frothy. Pour the milk into your favorite coffee mug and then add in the tea.
Even if you don’t like tea, you can use the matcha green tea latte recipe or mix the powder with your protein shake to get the nutrients you need. More research is on the way, but it’s clear that matcha is something that everyone should be taking.
